Bill and I sharing a beer together last year
Christopher Cavanagh
May 15, 2018
I just learned of Bill's passing. I've known him both personally and professionally since we were in grade school together. As a friend for over 40 years, Bill was a true gentleman both in his work and with his family and friends. He inspired me to be a better person simply by the way he lived his life and how he treated others. I will miss him dearly but I'll always remember him and the positive impact he has had on my life. My prayers go out to his entire family as I can imagine the loss you must feel. Rest in peace my dear friend.

Gosh, what a blast from the past! I knew Bill back on the bookfield in the late 80"s in CA during our college days. Though our lives only briefly intersected for those few summers, I remember him as a solid individual, quick to laugh, ahigh moral character and easily likable. I've no doubt he created a strong legacy of love as he found his way in the world. Bill, I will remember you in The Chaplet of Divine Mercy prayer and include your family. Grant eternal rest unto him O Lord and quickly enter into his eternal reward.

Peace to all who knew and loved Bill. I worked (and lived) with Bill way back during our years on the bookfield...selling books as a summer job on the west coast while in college. Bill was and is a beautiful man possessed of a great spirit. Lord, have mercy.

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Bill. I dealt with Bill on a business level and you couldn't have found a more professional person. We developed a friendship that has lasted for over 30 years. The world has lost a great person. With my sympathy, Louis D'Amicantonio

Bill was a long term member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals. He was a energetic member and always had a positive outlook. He will be missed.

In 2008, Bill helped me through the emotional swings of launching a new business. Lifelong colleagues advised not to do it. At the time I didn't even have a long friendship with Bill. Bill quickly helped with introductions and replied to my calls when so many went silent. Bill will remain in my prayers as an angel who always believed that I could when so many thought I couldn't.

Lizzy and family, you are in our thoughts and prayers. Billy was such a special guy who I will truly miss. He had just that right mix of seriousness and caring along with a zest for life. I will always cherish the time I was able to spend with him whether it was meeting prospective clients, grabbing a cocktail to catch up or hitting the links. Rest in Peace Billy. You will be missed my friend.

Bill was a consummate professional who aptly handled my insurance needs with selfless advice. I remembered having lunch at his home 35 years ago and learning from his motivational techniques he employed to increase the level of service he provided his clients. Rest In Peace Bill Denny. A true loss to those who knew you.

When I was little I remember uncle Bill allowing me to paint his finger nails and put hair ties in his hair. I remember the long talks we would have and the fun times we shared as a family. My heart goes out to the Denney family. You are sadly missed by all the Jones family.

On behalf of our family, Julie, Jonah, Emma and Hannah, I first wanted to send our thoughts and prayers to Lizzy, Will, Kim, and both of your families. As many have already said, Bill was a very special man. We have all had good friends, but Bill was one of those people who was loved by everyone who met him. His enthusiasm and optimistic view of life was inspiring, and his genuine care for other people was at a level that I have found rare in my life. I was fortunate that Will and my son Jonah met early in elementary school and became and remained best friends, because that was how I met Bill. Will and Jonah are still close, roomates at Penn State, and we have all been able to share many great experiences at lacrosse games, Penn State football games, helping the boys move in, and out, of apartments, and on and on. I am grateful for having had many opportunities to speak with Bill on the phone and in person over the past three years. Whenever someone asked me about the blue band on my wrist with "WWBC" on it I had an opportunity to share about what a beautiful and special man Bill was. Every loved one leaves a hole in your heart when they are gone, and no amount of preparation ahead of time helps much when that day comes. At the same time, they are, and always will be, a part of the tapestry of your life that you will always have. Bill has a very special place, front and center, in the tapestry of our lives in the Tate family, and I will miss him more than I can say.

My heart knows Billy lived a beautiful life and everyone loved him. His smile was contagious. I knew him from when he was a little boy and so enjoyed watching all the Denney kids grow up. Billy you will be forever with us and you will be forever loved.

An awesome long-time friend - we met as Juniors at the Union League and he was my insurance agent ever since. A trusting and ethical person, he always was a positive person to be around. Bill on his bike ("Lance" before it became a tarnish) is a lasting image. Truly a gentleman - it was an honor to be included in his circle of friends.
