Jimmy Hall, 73, of Avon, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at St. Mary of the Woods, Avon, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Hall was born June 10, 1944 in Hall, Kentucky, the town named for his family. He had lived in Avon since 1979. Jimmy was a graduate of Wayland High School, Wayland Kentucky, where he was an all-around good athlete, but a celebrated basketball player. Following high school he was drafted into the US Army, serving in Vietnam and the Dominican Republic. After 25 years of service to the Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA), Jimmy retired as a supervisor. He then had a couple successful businesses in southern Ohio and Florida. After retiring a second time and with free time on his hand, he work as an over the road truck driver seeing North America. Jimmy was one who could fix anything and was always giving of himself. He was the "go to guy" whether lending a helping hand, listening or just giving a lot of love. On July 3 1979 he married Mimi Dimitrova together they loved and raised their children, Alana Hall of Rocky River and Michael Hall of Wakeman. Besides his wife and children, Jimmy is survived by his granddaughter Harper. The two of them shared a special bond; Harper called him papa. He is also survived by his granddaughter Melissa, siblings Georgene Johnson, Coleen Duncil (Earl) and Geronda Lynn Hall all of Kite, (formerly Hall), Kentucky. He is preceded in death by his parents Luther and Effie (nee Martin) Hall, son Jimmy Hall and siblings Wallace and Maybelline Hall. Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 32000 Detroit Rd., Avon, Monday, March 12, from 5:00-8:00pm. The Funeral Service will be at the Funeral Home at 1:00pm, Tuesday. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Avon. 440-933-3202 www.buschcares.com

Mimi, Alana & Michael,

Affable, kind, warm and welcoming...those words describe Jimmy. He always made all of those he was with comfortable. We were privileged to spend time with him (and you all) "back in the day"...Jimmy was a fine man and he will be greatly missed. May God comfort all of you at this time.
