Caroline Coon Obituary

Published by Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. - Sterling Heights on Apr. 4, 2018.
COON, Caroline J. "Carol". Born on October 30, 1944 passed away April 4, 2018 at her home in Clinton Township, MI with her children by her side after battling a long illness. She was married to Carl Coon Sr. for 30 years before he preceded her in death; Carol was the mother of Carl Jr. (fiancee' Jody Davis and her children Trevor and Nolan) and Traci Yoho (Steven). Proud and loving Mimi of Alyssa, Brianna and Gregory. Loving younger sister of Michael Shady (Elaine) and older sister of the late Alex Shady (the late Cindy) and the late James Shady. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She enjoyed playing her slot machines, whether it be at the casinos or on her iPad, and loved playing cards and Bingo with her friends and spending as much time as possible with her two "girls" Alyssa and Brianna. She loved to watch cooking shows and game shows. Carol is a miraculous 16 year lung transplant survivor and was a warrior who battled many wars that her doctors did not think she would win. She will be missed dearly. Visitation Friday 3-9pm. Funeral Saturday 11am at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc., 36900 Schoenehrr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile). Interment, Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, Clinton Township. Memorial contributions to the Lung Transplant Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital are appreciated. Please share memories with the family at their "On-Line Guestbook" at WujekCalcaterra.com

We are so sorry for your loss. I worked with your father Carl many years at Ford Paint Plant and first met both your father and mother in the late 1960's. They will remain in my memory. God bless and keep them.

She was a wonderful lady and will be missed. I was so blessed to have her as my "2nd sister". I lucked out that my brother was so smart to have married her. So many wonderful memories of the two of them. Tracy and Carl Jr., and your families my heartfelt sympathy goes to you. "Little Carol" is in my prayers...she's now with my brother again.
