CPO John Thomas Fitch (USN, Ret.)

CPO John Thomas Fitch, (USN, Ret.), 82, of Ladson, South Carolina, husband of Virginia Robles Fitch died Saturday, May 5, 2018. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the Mount Pleasant Chapel on Thursday from 1:00 pm until time of the service. John was born January 16, 1936 in Coshocton, Ohio, son of Clyde Fitch and Thelma Fitch. He retired from the United States Navy after 21 years as a Chief Petty officer and then worked and retired from the Charleston Navy Shipyard. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia R. Fitch of Ladson, SC; two sons, Charles Anthony Fitch (Cathy) of Mount Pleasant, SC and Edward L. Fitch (Ellen) of Walterboro, SC; daughter, Hattie Ann Halsey of Atlanta, GA; three sisters, Barbara Offult of Almagordo, NM, Judy Foster of Jensen Beach, FL and Patricia Bassett of Mt. Home, AK; one brother, Jerry Fitch of Coshocton, OH; seven grandchildren, Jessie, Heather, Brent, Ashton, Dustin, Derek and Dawson and ten great-grandchildren.
