Joseph Daniel Ashe

Joseph Daniel Ashe was born on June 27, 1928, and passed away on May 19, 2018, just shy of his 90th birthday. A native San Franciscan, Joseph was born to Francis Lawrence Ashe, a prominent attorney in San Francisco, and his wife, Irene Ashe. Joseph was one of eight children: Francis, Matthew (Cy), Barbara, Mary Jane, Joan, Michael and Peter. A product of San Francisco Catholic schools, Joseph attended St. Monica's, St. Ignatius, USF and UC Berkeley. After two decades as a teacher in the SFUSD, Joseph took on a second career in commercial real estate, based in Burlingame, CA. Joseph is survived by his brother, Peter, his wife, Geraldine and his four children, Stephanie (married to Roger Fee), David, Joseph and Jonathan (married to Valerie Ashe). He is also survived by his five grandchildren: Christina, Graeson, Olivia, Gillian and Ronan. A memorial mass in honor of Joseph's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 27 (Joseph's 90th birthday) at 11am at Our Lady of the Pillar Church-400 Church Street, Half Moon Bay.
