Ryan,

Life goes by so fast. It seems like a blink of an eye ago that I met you on my first visit to Horicon with Amber. I liked you right away. Over the years there are so many fond memories that always bring a smile to my face. Your trip to visit us at the University of Iowa as but a young pup (you remember that one right?), your graduation and wedding, family vacations to Texas, Arizona, Dominican Republic, Disney World, BBQ's at your house, your great and loyal dogs.I could go on all day. What I will remember most is our many golf matches over the years. I loved them. We always played close ones and we never overtly talked about competing with each other, but we both were well aware of each other's scores, and wanted the lowest one. I remember our caddies in the DR betting on us. I'm really going to miss those games, and I would happily lose all of them for eternity to have you around for a longer time.

Thank you for being a good uncle to my daughter, and thank you for raising your boys the right way. It is wonderful that our kids have been able to spend their July's together. Your efforts with the Veterans Hunt were truly noble. What a wonderful legacy for you and your family. We should all strive to do something as important. When Amber called on Sunday and told me about your passing, it didn't seem real. It still doesn't. My heart hurts for Kari, Hunter & Taner, Gerry & Betty, Amber, Katherine, Kim, and all the rest of the extended family and many friends you made over your lifetime. It was a life too short, but it was one you lived doing the things you loved and with the people you loved. Well done and rest in peace. I'm going to miss you brother.
