Mr. Fiore was my math teacher at Nathan Hale Junior High School in Cleveland in the 1970's and whenever I talk about a teacher that influenced me I reference Mr. Fiore. He made math fun by starting every class with a joke, most of the time it was a dud joke but he had a way of making you feel like math shouldn't be intimidating. I had always struggled with math until I took Mr. Fiore's class and as a result of his laid back style of teaching I ended up with the second highest grade in the class. Mr. Fiore was my Mr. Kotter from the tv show "Welcome Back Kotter" and he will always be considered my favorite teacher of all time. Thanks to Mr. Fiore believing in me I ended up with an undergraduate degree in Journalism and a Master's Degree in Education. Rest well and thank you Mr. Fiore...... Paul E. Mosley, M. Ed.

As a retired teacher and Chess Master, Mr. Fiore was a treasured member of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. He helped design and served as the adjudicator for our middle and senior high school chess tournaments, since it's inception in 1984. He had such a kind and loving manner and he will be greatly missed. Our love and heartfelt condolences go out to Susan and the Fiore family.
