Karen H. (Morse) Mielke

Karen Helen (Morse) Mielke, age 61 years, passed away Tuesday morning, October 16, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region. She was born in Bay City on October 12, 1957, the daughter of Judson and Joanne (Sabourin) Morse. On January 21, 1978 Karen was united in marriage to Michael A. Mielke and after 40 years together he survives her. Karen was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed gardening and listening to Motown music. Karen worked alongside her husband at Mielke Trucking for many years. Surviving family include her husband, Michael; mother, Joanne H. (Sabourin) Morse; children, Aaron Mielke, Sarah (Zachary) McKenna and Michael Mielke II; grandchildren, Lydia McKenna and Maxwell and Maci Mielke; siblings, Timothy (Lisa) Morse, Jill (Martin) Jones, Jon (Mary O'Shea) Morse and Judson (Charity) Morse II and many nieces and nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Judson L. Morse Sr. and her sister, Heidi Jo (Morse) Morley. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2018 at the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. The Rev. Leslie M. Piper officiating, with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association or the Interstitial Cystitis Association.
