Joan A. Conety

Joan A. Conety, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at UMass Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness. Joan was born in Worcester on July 18, 1933 a daughter of the late Joseph M. and Anna I. (Daniels) Conety. She attended local schools and graduated from Girls Trade School. She then began working at UMass Memorial Medical Center where she was employed as a unit secretary before retiring after 44 years. Ms. Conety was a parishioner of St. Peters Church and a past member of the 39ers club. Joanie had many friends at Memorial Hospital and enjoyed many lunches with Kay Cosmo, Sophie Sanberg and Toby Solomon and referred to themselves as the ladies of the roundtable. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins including James McCoy and extended family members and many dear friends whom will miss her tremendously. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Raymond J. Conety who passed away in 1989. Family and friends will gather to honor, remember and celebrate Joan's life on Tuesday, December 4th from 9:30am until 10:30am at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester, before leaving in procession for a 11:00am funeral Mass at St. Peter's Church, 931 Main St., Worcester. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
