Diane Britton Obituary

Published by Beck-Givnish Funeral Home on Jan. 17, 2019.
Diane M. (nee Fisher) Britton of Levittown, PA, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019, at the age of 67. Born in Philadelphia to the late Joseph Sr. and Katherine Fisher, Diane will always be remembered as a strong compassionate woman who was very resilient. After her high school sweetheart's paralyzing injury during the Vietnam War, Diane married Jim and became his primary caregiver. She also overcame the tragic, untimely loss of her son, Matthew, and years later successfully won her bout with breast cancer. She was also a fantastic and loving mother and grandmother. In her free time, Diane enjoyed puzzles and Facebook. Preceded in death by her son, Matthew James Britton, and her sister Cass Goodrich, Diane is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, James A. Britton Sr., her children, Theresa (James) Barlow-Poorman and James A. Britton Jr., and her cherished grandchildren, Aylssa (Roberyt Trindel) Barlow, Joseph Barlow, and Jonathon Barlow. She is also survived by her siblings, Evelyn Carusso and Joe (Beth) Fisher, and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Barbara Britton. Services for Diane will be held privately at the request of her loving family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Kumen for the Cure at ww5.komen.org or to the Wounded Warriors Project at woundedwarriorproject.org. Services provided by Beck Givnish Life Celebration Home, 7400 New Falls Rd., Levittown, PA 19055, www.lifecelebration.com.

Theresa and family,

I am so sorry for your loss. Always had a fun time working with Diane and enjoyed her sarcasm and laugh. She made a rough, monotonous summer job enjoyable, She would lend an ear for anyone. She will be greatly missed.
