Ryan Francis Gillespie

Ryan Francis Gillespie Of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away August 30, 2019, after long battle with Type 1 Diabetes and Gastroperisis. He was 30 years old. Ryan was longtime resident of Upper Darby Twp. He attended Upper Darby High School, where he played football and lacrosse. As a child he played soccer and baseball for Lansdowne Boys Club and football for Colwyn Comets and Drexel Hill Raiders. Ryan was a long time employee of Mapes Tru Value where he managed four of their stores. Ryan was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially Eagles and Flyers. He loved to draw, sing, especially karaoke. He loved all animals and was an advocate for them. He had deep love for the beach and ocean, loved taking trips to Wildwood and Florida. Ryan was a beautiful soul who saw good in everyone and everything. He will be greatly missed by everyone he ever touched. Ryan is survived by his loving parents Tracey (nee Townsend) and James C. Gillespie, father Franklin Donaghy (Lisa), his loving brothers James Gillespie, Matthew Donaghy and predeceased by brother Shawn Donaghy. Aunts, "especially his number one Aunt Joyce. ", Uncles, Mom-Mom Carol Weber and many many cousins. His very devoted and loving caregiver Christina Hance who took excellent care of him and made him happy, also a great number of loving friends. Relatives and friends are invited to his Mass Memorial Service on Sunday, October 20th at 3 PM at The Church of the Holy Comforter, 1000 Burmont Rd., Drexel Hill, PA 19026, to celebrate his life and peace.
