As a co-op student working in the Plant 18 Engineering Labs, and later as an engineer in the same building, I can attest that Dick held a special spot in the hearts of all of us co-op students, GMI, Purdue or Tri-State. Many happy memories of working around this fine man - who tried his best to beat me at pingpong! R.I.P. old friend!

How sad is it to loose you Dick ! I spoke to you a month ago for your birthday hoping to be with you again next year for your 89 yrs ! Remember : we met 52 years ago when Liliane and I we came to Anderson when I was sponsorded by Delco Remy in my studies at the GMI in Flint Mich .You were the boss in the alternators laboratory and you guided me so friendly that we became...friends . We met often for barbecues or in our place 17th street for french type diners. You took me to the 500 miles in Indianapolis ...but it rained all day ! No race .We went you and I, for a skiing day in Bellefontaine Ohio. Nice memories .And you were the first one to get to know Philippe at St John's hospital when he was born on april 25 1969. Then we left for France and for 50 years, we exchanged christmas cards ! The longest friendship of all for us ! You were a great man.involved in many different activities .Great sense of humor . My regret is that we never had a chance to see you in France ! You would have loved it.
Rest in peace .You shall always remain in our hearts...
Hervé & Liliane ...and Philippe your franco/american fan!

Sending hugs and condolences to the entire Elmore Family. One of my fondest childhood memories of Dick (or Mr. Elmore as he will always be to me) was at the annual Elmore Christmas Parties. Every year about this time I think about those parties and how much fun it was to make homemade garland from popcorn and cranberries. In my memories, those parties were magical, as was Mr. Elmore. Whether at Christmas or at the racetrack with my dad, he never failed to make me feel like a special young lady. He will be truly missed!

Dick was a great guy. He was one of the Elmers who taught my General Class so I could upgrade my license. May the Lord Bless and Keep You Family in His Arms during this time.
