Matthew Crane Obituary

Published by John F Givnish Funeral Home - Academy Rd on Apr. 24, 2020.
Matthew H. Crane passed away, suddenly, on April 24, 2020 at the age of 26. Beloved son of Howard K. and Donna (nee Crusemire) Crane; loving brother of Kyle, Nolan and Emily Crane; cherished grandson of Howard M. and Edna Crane and Charles and Donna Crusemire. Nephew to Chad and Craig (Krista) Crusemire and Susan (Anthony) Gatto. Cousin to Ryan, Caden, Bridget and Danny. He will be missed by his friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins. His smile and personality are shared by his brothers and sister and he will live through them and in our hearts. Matthew was the oldest and grew up with his mom, dad, brothers and sister; he was an example to everyone he met. He had a strength that knew no bounds and would light a room as soon as soon as he entered. His dad loved coaching and playing with Matthew in baseball, basketball and football, until he found his true sport, lacrosse, in middle school and was coached by his Uncle Craig. He worked with his Uncle Chad and Grandpop Crusemire (Hun) during college. He loved his Mama's cooking, especially her crepes. He played whiffle ball with Kyle, Nolan and Emily in the back yard, loved Nerf Gun battles on Christmas Day and Easter Egg hunts. Matthew was a huge Carolina Panthers and Pittsburgh Penguins fan who proudly wore the team's attire, to the dismay of his dad, when they went to games and watched in person. Other than liking the 76ers, he always rooted for the sports team playing against Philadelphia to torment dad. Along with building Legos, the one thing Matthew loved was a good story. As an avid reader, video game player and movie watcher he was able to experience the story in different ways. Matthew had a keen eye for fashion and loved his car. He looked forward to hanging out with his friends on the weekends, their annual trips to Dewey Beach and fantasy football during the season. He could be found at the gym during the week working to enhance his guns to show off to all. Matthew was working fulltime in his career, Accounting, with much success. Matthew graduated from Penn State University in Accounting and Archbishop Ryan High School. Due to the current pandemic, Matthew's services will be private to his immediate family at this time. There will be a public Life Celebration for Matthew, in the future, when the restrictions are lifted and it is safe for family and friends to gather. Family service by John F. I worked with Matt for the past several months in the finance dept. at World and Main. My prayers and sincere condolences to the family. Matt made valuable contributions in his short time with the company, and I enjoyed his very pleasant personality. I am a Roman High grad, and we spoke several times about Arch Bishop Ryan and our shared experience with Catholic high school education. He spoke fondly of his days playing baseball. I hope and trust that faith and the happy memories of a life well lived will sustain you through this tragic loss. Sincerely, Jack Imszennik

Donna and Family,
Hello, it's you old neighbor from John Hancock Ct, Linda Connor, Billy's mom. My words feel inadequate for what I am feeling right now, but here goes. I was shocked and so very sad to learn of Matthews passing. I can still see Matt as a small child playing video games with Billy and swimming in our pool. He was such a happy go lucky boy and Billy remembers him as one of his best childhood friends and has so many good memories of their adventures together. Donna, I can only imagine how hard this must be for you as his Mom. He was so young and had so much more to experience in life. I pray that you find strength and comfort in the memories you have of Matt. Again, from our family, and especially Billy, we are so very sorry for your loss.
