Maureen P. Stradley

Age 76, of Upper St. Clair, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. Beloved wife of 28 years to Carl H. Hellerstedt, Jr.; loving mother of Ben (Leah) Stradley and Lauren (Ryan) Matney; beloved stepmother of Beth (Darren) Hellerstedt-Kocs and Carl Hellerstedt; cherished MiMi of Evy, Walker, Leighton, Elise, Andrew and Daniel; beloved daughter of the late Richard and Ann Powers; beloved sister of Richard "Jimmy', Jeaneen and Lynda; also survived by nieces and nephews. Maureen was a proud alumnus of Penn State University College of Education and received her Master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh and was a professor at CCAC, a former chairperson of the Developmental Studies Department and was an outstanding educational leader. A past president of the PA Association of Developmental Education (PADE), Maureen also served the college as interim academic dean. Maureen received honors from a number of professional organizations, including, PADE and the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD). Memorials in her name may be made to the Penn State College of Education General Scholarship Fund.
