Richard Payne Cheatham Jr.

Richard P. Cheatham Jr. entered eternity on September 28, 2020. Richard was 86 years old and was born in Holtville California. Richard devoted his life to his family, friends and his Church. He had retired as an electronics engineer. He attended and volunteered at LakePointe Church in Rockwall, TX for over 25 years. He especially enjoyed the construction projects he performed there. Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Lavacca and great granddaughter Charlotte Cate. Richard leaves behind a wife of 5 years, Dee Delay Cheatham. He also leaves a brother and sister, Lee Cheatham and Carolyn Moser; 4 children, Rick, Dennis, Pennie and Caren. He was blessed with 8 grandchildren, Matt, Lindsay, Angie, Jay, Presley, Casey, Allie and Dylan. Richard has 4 great grandchildren, Lorelai, Landon, Olivia and Camilla. However, he was Papaw to many more. Richard enjoyed gardening, country and gospel music, breakfasts with friends, dancing, playing domino's, 4th of July and boating on Lake Texoma. Richard lovingly supported THE RUTH CHEATHAM FOUNDATION that provides advocacy, education and financial aid to adolescents diagnosed with cancer. www.ruthcheathamfoundation.org Due to Covid-19 concerns a memorial service will be held at a later date.
