Claudia J. Carrell

Claudia Jean Carrell, 68, of Merrimack, NH went peacefully to be with her heavenly father January 21, 2021, having been surrounded by her husband of 36 years, all 4 of her children, 11 grandchildren, sister Charlotte, and some close friends. She was born in Iowa to parents Rex and Lola Hicks, graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois and taught junior high physical education in that area for 2 years. She married Tom Markham and was blessed with 3 children, Elizabeth, Mary Grace, and Matthew. She moved to NH with her second marriage to Walter Carrell and they welcomed daughter Hannah to the family. Claudia was a devoted believer and delighted in Bible Studies and singing to the Lord. She was an avid crafter and seamstress. She was a collector of small pieces of art. Most of all, she was a collector of people who needed to be loved or seen or heard. Her eyes looked deep into the heart of any and everyone she met, and they all left feeling truly seen, acknowledged and cared for. She will be missed by all with the knowledge they were loved and valued. Claudia is survived by her husband Walter Carrell III, children Elizabeth Markham, Mary Grace Markham, Matthew Markham, Hannah Carrell, grandchildren Danika McIntyre, Ryan McIntyre, Lola McIntyre, Violet McIntyre, Levit DeBow, Bella DeBow, Music DeBow, Julian DeBow, Ruby Markham, Jasmine Markham, and Zion Fawkes, mother Lola Hicks, and siblings Cyndie Livengood, Gregory Hicks, David Hicks, and Charlotte Gray.
