Cindy Lou Jury (Oliveira), 66, died Thursday, January 28, 2021 at home in Salem, NH, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 16, 1954 in Bellefonte, PA, the daughter of Jim and Lorna Jury. Soon after, she moved to Manchester, NH, where she grew up before moving to Cambridge, MA to pursue an education in teaching. While living and working in Cambridge, she met her husband, Gil Oliveira. They both worked at the restaurant inside the historic Parker House in Boston. He was the head chef and she was the hostess. They spent 40 wonderful years together. Cindy was a passionate educator for 45 years. She lived to help others, and, since 1994, she has been a devoted advocate for families with young children in the greater Salem, NH area as the executive director of her nonprofit, Salem Family Resources, and director of The Learning Center. She served on the Board of Trustees of the Kelley Library in Salem, NH. Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband, Gil; her children, Molly and Sarah; her grandson, Lucas; her brother, Stephen; and her sister, Karen. An outdoor memorial will be held on Saturday, February 6th at her home, 6 Meadow Lane, in Salem, NH from 1pm - 4pm. All whose lives were touched by Cindy are invited to join by driving by or stepping out to stand by a fire in a moment of remembrance and gratitude. In lieu of flowers, Cindy wished to leave behind a scholarship fund for her grandson and future grandchildren in support of their educational pursuits. Dear family,

I did not learn of Cindy´s passing for a few years afterwards. She was a very dear and close friend throughout my HS years. We spent a lot of time together socially. Cindy was the sweetest, most thoughtful person I had known. We had a very close group of about 10 people that hung around together.

I won´t ever forget the memory of her making me "Baked Alaska " for a surprise birthday party. I have pictures of that somewhere. When I come across them I will post.

Farewell dear lady. I know you are certainly in heaven.

Your friend always,

Jimmy Stables

We had been thinking of Ms. Jury as my son has been remote learning while he heals up from orthopedic surgery. We were sad to recently see in the paper that she has passed. She was a very lovely lady and so helpful to us parents at SFR. She will be missed by many.

My deepest sympathy to Cindys family. I met her when I brought my grandchildren to her. She was always so caring and always smiling and happy. One of the best people I ever knew. Love to all of you.

Cindy was an amazing colleague, a dear friend, and a special advocate for children and family. I will miss her wisdom, dedication, support, humor, and partnership. She talked so much about her wonderful family, and I am surrounding all of you in healing, peace, comfort and love. I will miss her greatly.
