James Clyde Tilton, affectionately known as Mr. Cool Guy or Granddad to his grandchildren, was born on March 29, 1952 in McKinney ,Texas to Margaret Gibson & Clyde Tilton. He went to be with his Lord on March 13, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret & Clyde; & his beloved dog, Peanut Tilton. James is survived by his daughter, Lauren Tuggle & husband, Branden; son, Aaron Tilton; sister, Kathryn Higgs; brother, Robert Tilton; grandsons, Grayson Tuggle & Blake Tilton; granddaughter, Avery Tuggle; daughter-in-law, Katie Tilton; & many nephews & nieces. James was naturally charismatic and loved to joke around. He liked building, repairing, & general tinkering, & had a passion for grilling & smoking food. James earned a Master's degree in business from Dallas Baptist University & was an alumni of Kappa Alpha. He loved to travel, was a saved Christian & a believer of Christ. I will always remember James, a good man and a friend. Putting up and decorating his Christmas tree, dog sitting with Peanut, gardening at his home, all good memories. I will miss his talks with me. God bless him.
