William "Bill" Reising

William A. Reising "Bill", 85 of Elyria, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021 at his son's home in LaGrange following a lengthy illness. He was born at home in Elyria September 26, 1935. Bill was graduate of Elyria High School, class of 1954. He was raised at the Lake Avenue United Church of Christ and sang in the church choir. He was a lifeguard at Cascade Park Pool and was a Chronicle Telegram paperboy with one of the bigger routes on the westside. Bill was a Tool and Die Maker with Fisher Guide Parma Plant. He was known as "Mr. Fixit" and loved to help others build, fix, and refinish things. He was also very involved with the Elyria Summer Theater, Elyria High School Theater, and the Workshop Players in Amherst. As a teen, he put in lawns and worked at the YMCA. He taught drafting at night school and mechanical drawing. He enjoyed his time as a Cub Scout leader, an umpire and coach in Little League and basketball for girls. His hobbies included Barbershop singing, Choruses, and Quartets, church choir, and Community Choir at Lorain County Community College. He helped with bike clinics for neighborhood kids and enjoyed bowling and fishing. He was also a church youth advisor at Lake Avenue United Church of Christ and First United Methodist Church. Bill was a member of Community of Faith UCC and formerly at Lake Avenue United Church of Christ. Mr. Reising is survived by his wife, Donna (nee Fugitt); daughters, Rachelle "Chelle" (Dave) Gulyas of Wakeman and Kim Reising (Sherry Jones) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; son, Russ (Amy) Reising of LaGrange; grandchildren, Courtney Moss, Brittany Reising, and Madison Snyder; great-grandson, Caiden Housted. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Richard Reising; infant sister, Clarabelle Reising; parents, Clarence and Edna Reising.
