Richard Henry Dres passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 peacefully at his home. He was born on June 8, 1929 in Amsterdam, Holland. He lived in Chile for five years and was raised in Brooklyn, New York. He moved to Dallas after high school, attended SMU and received his degree in Accounting from Texas A&M in 1958. His career was as a Certified Public Accountant. Dick served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, spending his two years as an Instructor in the Radio Operators School in Ft. Chaffee, Arkansas. Dick and Theresa (Teri) were married on July 9, 1955 at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Dallas. They had two sons, David and Dennis. They are very proud of their four grandchildren, Mandy. Christina. Bennett and Madeleine, as well as the four greatgrandchildren, Preston, Gabe, Ben and Clara. He is also survived by his sister, Carmen Dres Lamping, Colorado Springs, CO and brother, Hank Dres, McKinney, TX. The Dres Family was very active in St. Pius X Parish since moving into the parish in February 1959. Dick served as Treasurer of the Men's Club, active with the SPX Budget Drives for many years, and served as Scoutmaster of Troop 707 for five years and several more years on the Troop's Committee. Memorials in Dick's name can be sent to St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3030 Gus Thomasson Road, Dallas, Texas 75228.
