FRANK ANDREW RASPEY age 75 died on 4/17/21 . He was born in Chemnitz Germany and emigrated to the US with his family when he was 6 years old. His parents Maxwell Raspe and Herta Raspe (nee Sodaman) preceded him in death. He leaves behind his wife Anne Dauper Raspey of 35 years, his son Paul James Raspey of Garland , TX , his granddaughter Emma Rose Raspey and brother John Raspey of Ft Myers, FL. He lived in his beloved Pittsburgh for over 40 years, married Anne in 1986 and moved to the Cleveland area in 1992. He resided in Parma for 26 years and then Strongsville for 3 years. He was employed by IBM Corporation for 23 years, took an early buy-out and then was employed in car sales for American Honda at Rick Roush Medina Honda. He met Anne while traveling in the Islands in 1983 and they married in 1986. Frank loved to travel. He was an avid pro-soccer fan, both indoor and outdoor and would be so excited to watch World Cup soccer every 4 years. Of course no team was better than the Pittsburgh Steelers! He loved raising and caring for 6 rescue dogs and numerous birds over the years. Being a no fuss kind of guy he rarely wore suits and ties preferring a wardrobe of shorts, tee shirts and sandals. He cherished time out of doors and loved hiking, cross country skiing and sun bathing. In his latter years he enjoyed participating in the functional exercise grip and luncheons at the Strongsville senior rec center. Frank collected books on Japanese armor, ancient coins and prehistoric artifacts and enjoyed reading in his retirement. Funeral service will be held at 2pm Thursday and will be livestreamed. Family will receive friends at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 7501 RIDGE ROAD, PARMA, FROM 3:00 PM-5:00 PM, THURSDAY, APRIL 22, 2021 with facial covering and social distancing. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter 9500 Sweet Valley Drive Valley View, OH 44125 or the Parma Animal Shelter 6260 State Road Parma, OH 44134. My deepest condolences to the family of Frank Raspey. We met many decades ago at the Pittsburgh Fencers' Club, and I was so impressed by Frank's kindness, enthusiasm, energy, and sense of adventure. Frank was a role model for all and a friend forever. Frank lived his life with joy, and deeply loved his family. He created a wonderful legacy of memories which will always endure. I am keeping all of his family in my thoughts and prayers.

Frank was kind, and generous to a fault. He took risks and sacrificed for his friends, and lived up to the unchanging values of friendship. He also put 110% into everything he undertook. Frank made a lasting; admirable impression on me. Frank, wherever you are, always keep your point in line.

I really enjoyed my time working with Frank, I will sure miss the times we could get away and grab lunch (always chinese food) His stories were always so interesting. His voice mails he would leave ALWAYS left a smile on my face even if I didn't know what the heck he was talking about!
Rip Frankie until we meet again!!

Frank was one of a kind. As a co-worker for many years, I always enjoyed my time with him. He was funny, insightful, and always had a story that made me smile. He forgot more about music than I will ever know. He most certainly left an impression on me and will be missed. I imagine he'll be trekking with his khaki shorts and walking stick until we meet again. RIP

Deepest condolences for the loss of a great friend and a great man. Frank was one of those rare men who always had a kind word for everyone he met. A friend to all who would bend over backwards to help any and everyone. A true loss for us all.
