Jamieson "Jamie" Petter Michael

In the early morning of August 12, 2021, Jamieson Petter Michael 68, lost her long brave battle with cancer dying in her Richland home of 43 years, surrounded by her husband Phil and their loyal cat Ninja. Jamie was born August 18th. 1952 and raised in Holland MI, the eldest of three amazing daughters of Jay Petter and Carol (TenBroek)Petter (deceased). Her sisters, Stephanie (Rick) Garrett and Mindy (Tim) Pierson survive, along with nephews, Traver and Cameron Pierson and niece, Megan Pierson and many cousins. Jamie graduated from MSU where she met and later married, in May of 1976, her husband and best friend of 45 years Phil. They settled in Richland, and Jamie worked in floral design, horticultural publishing, and some retail management before managing Phil's business, Design Group III. Jamie expressed a great creativity and passion in many of the arts. In particular, gardening, pottery, weaving, and later in crafting many beautiful quilts, constantly finding and adding many close friendships along the way. She and Phil loved nature walks, backpacking, kayaking, full moons, bonfires, beach walks, her many 'sister' trips, and as much interesting travel as possible. She was deeply loved and will be so missed by so many. Family and friends hope to hold a memorial-celebration when it may be safer to do so. We very sincerely thank everyone involved with West Michigan Cancer Center and Hospice Care of SW Michigan for their incredible care throughout many difficult times.
