Richard DeFalco Obituary

Published by Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Funeral Home on Dec. 15, 2021.
Richard A. DeFalco of Mont Clare, and a former resident of Eagleville, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 15, 2021. He was 78 years old. Born March 31, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Alfred and Giovanna (nee Palumbo) DeFalco, and the beloved husband of the late Yvonne A. (nee Akel) DeFalco. Richard was the loving and devoted father of the late Richard A. DeFalco II, (Amy), and survived by Deneen A. McCollum (Pat), and Danielle J. DeFalco (Brandon) and dear grandfather of: Patrick (Molly), Nicholas (Heather), Evan, Ethan, John, Garrett, Joseph, James, Jolene and Emma and great-grandfather to Liam. Richard earned his Bachelor's degree in Finance & Accounting from St. John's University. Richard had a passion for technology and worked for Burroughs (Uniysis) in the information technology industry. He retired from the computer field to work side by side with his son at West Cooper Asset Mangement Group and Falcon Hill Farms. Richard also volunteered his time at SCORE in Montgomery County, a nonprofit organization for small business administration to help aspiring and existing entrepreneurs succeed. He held the position of Chairman and Assistant Director within the organization. Richard was so special in every way. He was the #1 definition of gentle, caring, loving, and kind-hearted. He loved so hard and brought such comfort and compassion to anyone. He pushed his children to be the best version of themselves and always gave the encouragement they needed. There could be a room full of people and there was Richard, "standing out quietly," sitting at the table having random conversations about everything and anything to anyone. He was a continuous learner and was always researching. Researching about politics, food, travel, the newest technology, family history...you name it he was researching. You could come to him for any advice. He was just a dear man. He enjoyed watching football, baseball especially the New York Yankees, FOX News, Netflix documentaries and the Sopranos. Richard had strong dedication to his Catholic faith. He will deeply be missed by his family and friends. Richard would want us to remember to live our best life and never take anything for granted. Relatives and friends are invited to share in Richard's Life Celebration on Tuesday December 21, from 6 to 8 PM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, and again on Wednesday, December 22, from 10 AM at St. Helena's Church, 1489 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's name can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
