Ronald Neal Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sproles Family Funeral Home - New Castle on Dec. 11, 2025.
Ronald Lee Neal, 72, passed away peacefully at his home in French Lick, Indiana, on Saturday, December 6, 2025, following a brief illness.

Born on February 6, 1953, in New Castle, Indiana, Ron was the son of the late E.L. and Lela (Hughes) Neal. He grew up in a busy, close-knit family and carried that same sense of loyalty and devotion throughout his life.

Ron is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Irene Gregory of New Castle; Tim (Shari) Neal of New Castle; Lily (Don) Wright of Fort Myers, FL; Joe (Kim) Neal of Parkersburg, VA; and John Neal. He also treasured his many nieces, nephews, and cousins, each of whom held a special place in his heart.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Neal of French Lick, who brought joy and companionship to his later years. Ron also embraced Brenda's children-Amber, Destiny, Matthew, and Harry-as well as her grandchildren, Sophia, Benjamin, Braxton, and Bralyna, who added new light and laughter to his life.

Ron was preceded in death by his former wife, Anita Neal; his brother-in-law, Fred Gregory; his sister, Ina (Neal) Dinkins; his brother-in-law, Gary Dinkins; and his faithful dog, "Elmer," who was truly his beloved buddy.

A 1973 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, Ron went on to work for General Motors in Anderson, where he built a long and steady career until retiring. Afterward, he found deep contentment in French Lick-the place he chose to call home and the landscape he loved.

Ron enjoyed the simple, good things in life: fishing, hunting with his buddies, and the freedom of the open road on his Harley. Some of his favorite memories were the rides he shared with his nephew, Brian Gregory. Ron had a quiet, steady way about him-one that made people feel comfortable, welcome, and understood.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in French Lick, Indiana.

"We love and miss you, Bub."
