David D. Block, 88, of Paoli, Indiana, passed away February 24, 2026, at Springs Valley Meadows in French Lick, Indiana. David was born on December 25, 1937, in Waubay, South Dakota, to Joseph and Valeria Wirkus Block, both of whom preceded him in death.
He married Mary Ann Westphal on January 30, 1955, and she preceded him in death on June 19, 2023.
David is also preceded by:
Daughter: Catherine Block
Son: Gary Duane Block
Brothers: LaVerne, Eugene, Richard, Harry, and Martin Block.
Sisters: Virginia and Adeline
David served in the US Army National Guard and attended Catholic School in Webster, SD, where he graduated 8th grade in 1952.
He was a Journeyman Lineman. He worked at Electricom before going to Orange County REMC in 1969, where he eventually retired in 1997.
He was a member of Paoli Jaycee’s and a lifetime member of the Paoli VFW Post# 8302.
David enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting.

Interment to follow at Paoli Community Cemetery.
