Samuel "Sam" Huddleston, 78, of Connersville, went home to be with the Lord on the evening of Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at St. Vincent Anderson Hospital.
Sam was born on November 3, 1947, in New Castle, Indiana, a son of the late Clyde Huddleston Jr. and Hannah Viola (Woolard) Huddleston. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Cambridge City in 1966 and went on to study business at Indiana State University. Sam proudly served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard.
On August 27, 1978, Sam married the love of his life, Linda Kaye Geise. Together they built a life rooted in love, family, and quiet devotion. Sam was a dedicated and dependable worker, retiring from Ford Motor Company in Connersville after many years of faithful service.
Sam was a selfless, gentle soul with a laid-back nature that put others at ease. He was a loving husband and father who cared deeply for his family. Proudly calling himself a "hillbilly," Sam was rarely seen without his bib overalls, a reflection of his down-to-earth spirit and simple joys in life.
Those left to cherish Sam's memory include his three children, Jonathan Huddleston of Connersville, Chris (Alissa) Huddleston of New Castle, and Amy (Paul Wesley) Davis of Anderson; six grandchildren, Lucas Day, Sidney Jones, and Josiah, Lucas, Kaylin, and Weston Davis; his aunt, Ellen Jayne Huddleston of Florida; his sister, Mary Thienel of New Castle; his niece, Ruth Wolfe of New Castle; and his nephew, Daniel Harp of Nebraska.
In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 31 years, Linda Kaye (Geise) Huddleston, and two sets of twins.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Sproles Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Rollin Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Springersville Cemetery near Liberty. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
