Royce Conner, 84, of Hagerstown, passed away peacefully at Reid Health on Friday, January 23, 2026.
He was born in Camden, OH on May 29, 1941 to Sherman and Dora (Perry) Conner. He attended Dixon School, near Eaton, OH. He served with the US Army, serving in Germany, where he worked with explosives, qualified as sharpshooter, and was honorably discharged disabled veteran. He retired from Dana Corp. at both Hagerstown and Syracuse plants with a total of 34 years of service. He was a member of UAW.
Royce was a member of Grace Baptist Church in New Castle for over 30 years. He enjoyed travelling. He was on 12 cruises, and took many trips by car and bus. He enjoyed camping with family. He also enjoyed working with antique furniture and had refinished many pieces.
On June 2, 1966 he married Alberta Heaston, his only "Honey". Together they had a wonderful 59 years of blessed happiness. They loved each other from the first kiss and ever after.
He was loving father to a son, Royce Mark Conner of Bunnell, FL and a daughter, Amy Eilen Moffitt of Milton; grandfather to Veronica Conner of Richmond and Ronnie Conner of Hagerstown; great grandfather to Abby Conner, Elizabeth Phenis and Henry Miller. He also leaves a brother, Lenvel Conner of Hagerstown and sister, Lou Frances Keller of Eaton, OH.
Visitation will be 11 AM to 1 PM on Monday, February 2, at Grace Baptist Church. Services will follow at 1 PM. Pastor Brian Neil will officiate. Burial will be in Economy Cemetery.
