Annie Wersching (1977–2023), “24,” “Star Trek: Picard” actress

Annie Wersching was an actress known for roles in “24,” “Star Trek: Picard,” “Runaways,” and many other TV shows, as well as in the video game “The Last of Us.”

Acting career

Among Wersching’s earliest high-profile roles was FBI agent Renee Walker in “24.” She joined the popular drama’s cast as a main character in season seven and returned in season eight. She had a leading role on “Bosch” as rookie police officer Julia Brasher and a prominent recurring role on “The Vampire Diaries” as Lily Salvatore, mother of Damon and Stefan. In 2017, Wersching starred in the Marvel TV series “Runaways” as Leslie Dean, and she had more notable recurring roles in “Timeless” as Emma Whitmore and in “The Rookie” as serial killer Rosalind Dyer. Most recently, she played the Borg Queen in two 2022 episodes of “Star Trek: Picard.” Wersching also made appearances on TV shows including “Angel,” “Supernatural,” “NCIS,” “Castle,” and “Blue Bloods.” In the popular Playstation 3 video game “The Last of Us,” Wersching provided the voice and motion capture for the smuggler Tess, portrayed by Anna Torv in the current HBO adaptation.
