Carol Locatell was an actress who stole the show in her scenes as Ethel in “Friday the 13th: A New Beginning.” 

Carol Locatell’s legacy 

Locatell is best remembered for her role in “Friday the 13th: A New Beginning,” the fifth installment in the horror movie series. She played the foul-mouthed Ethel Hubbard, who disliked the residents of the halfway house near her home. Her character was frequently quoted by fans of the series. Locatell’s other movies included “Coffy,” “Paternity,” “Sharky’s Machine,” and “The Family Stone.” In early movie roles, she was credited as Carol Lawson. 

Locatell was also frequently seen on TV. Her early guest appearances included “The Flying Nun,” “It Takes a Thief,” and “McCloud.” She appeared as Nurse Gaynor in two episodes of “M*A*S*H” and Flo Waters in two episodes of “Brothers.” Locatell’s many other TV appearances included “Dynasty,” “Growing Pains,” “ER,” “Touched by an Angel,” “NYPD Blue,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Mad Men,” “Scandal,” and “NCIS.”
