Christian Oliver (1972–2024), Saved by the Bell actor

Christian Oliver was a German actor who appeared in films such as “The Baby Sitters Club,” “Speed Racer,” and “Valkyrie,” as well as a long stint on “Saved by the Bell: The New Class,” and who, along with his daughters and their pilot, died in a plane crash in the Caribbean Sea. 

Christian Oliver’s legacy 

Oliver was born in Germany but relocated to the United States to pursue modeling and acting. He was introduced to American audiences in 1994 when he played Brian Keller in “Saved by the Bell: The New Class,” appearing in 26 episodes. He went back and forth between American and German productions, appearing in such films as “The Baby Sitters Club,” “Speed Racer,” the Tom Cruise-led “Valkyrie,” and the TV series “Hunters.” 

Most recently, he played a prominent role in the German series, “Cobra 11,” appearing in every episode of the popular action drama. 

Oliver and his daughters, Madita and Annik, were killed when their small four-seater plane went down in the Caribbean Sea during takeoff. The pilot, Robert Sachs, was also killed.
