Erich Anderson (1956–2024), Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter star

Erich Anderson was an actor best known for his performance in “Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter” as Rob Dier. 

Erich Anderson’s legacy 

Anderson’s first major acting credit became one of his best known, as he joined the “Friday the 13th” franchise for its fourth installment. His character, Rob Dier, was the brother of one of serial killer Jason Voorhees’ victims, and he was out for revenge. Anderson earned a place in the hearts of slasher movie fans with his performance. 

Anderson was also known for recurring roles on several TV shows. In “Thirtysomething,” he played Ellyn’s boyfriend and eventual husband, Billy Sidel.  In “NYPD Blue,” he appeared in seven episodes as drug trafficker Don Kirkendall. He was a regular character on “Felicity” as Felicity’s father, Dr. Edward Porter. Anderson also had multi-episode arcs on such shows as “Boomtown” and “Close to Home.” In addition, he made many guest appearances, showing up on series like “Dallas,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Melrose Place,” “Touched By an Angel,” “The X-Files,” “Bones,” and “Monk.”
