Acting career
Reilly had an early regular role on “As the World Turns,” playing Dr. Dan Stewart for two years beginning in 1974. He was cast in a recurring role on “Dallas” in 1984, playing Roy Ralston, before landing a long-term role on “General Hospital” that same year. Reilly played Sean Donely until 1994, returning occasionally afterwards and appearing in the 2008 spin-off, “General Hospital: Night Shift.” In 1988, he was nominated for a Soap Opera Digest award for Outstanding Actor in a Leading Role on a Daytime Serial for his performance on “General Hospital.” He had recurring roles on “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “Sunset Beach” in the 1990s. In 2005, Reilly landed a role on “Passions,” playing Alistair Crane.
