Linda Lawson (1936–2022), star of “Night Tide”

Linda Lawson was an actress and singer known for TV shows and movies including “Night Tide.”

Acting career

Lawson began her career as a singer in Las Vegas before making her way to Los Angeles to act. Her early roles included guest appearances on such TV shows as “Peter Gunn,” “Maverick,” and “Border Patrol.” She starred opposite Dennis Hopper (1936–2010) in the 1961 movie “Night Tide,” playing a woman appearing as a mermaid in a boardwalk sideshow. Lawson’s other movies included “Apache Rifles” and “Sometimes a Great Notion.” On TV, she had recurring roles on “Adventures in Paradise” and “That’s Life,” as well as starring in “Don’t Call Me Charlie!” She made many TV guest appearances, including “Bonanza,” “The Virginian,” “Saved by the Bell: The New Class,” and “ER.” Lawson also released the 1960s album “Introducing Linda Lawson.”
