Mary Mara (1960–2022), actress in “ER,” “Nash Bridges”

Mary Mara was an actress known for roles in TV shows including known for roles in “ER,” “Nash Bridges,” and “Star Trek: Enterprise.”

Acting career

Mara had early roles in movies including “Blue Steel,” “True Colors,” and “Mr. Saturday Night.” In 1992, she had a prominent role in “Love Potion No. 9.” Her TV career began with guest spots on “Law & Order” and “NYPD Blue” before landing a recurring role on “ER” as Loretta Sweet, a prostitute who visits the emergency room frequently. Mara starred as Inspector Bryn Carson in the first two seasons of “Nash Bridges” and had later recurring roles on “Star Trek: Enterprise” as Spere-Builder Presage, on “Dexter” as Valerie Hodges, and on “Ray Donovan” as Mrs. Sullivan. Her many other TV appearances included “Ally McBeal,” “The Practice,” “The West Wing,” “7th Heaven,” and “Lost.” Mara was also a stage actress in New York and Los Angeles.
