Michael Kopsa (1956–2022), “Fringe” actor and anime voice artist

Michael Kopsa was an actor in TV shows including “Fringe,” “Stargate SG-1,” and “Mobile Suit Gundam.”

Acting career

Kopsa was well-known in the anime world for voice work including the English dub of the popular “Mobile Suit Gundam.” He voiced the main character Char Aznable and returned to the role in “Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack” and in a number of Gundam video games. Kopsa’s other animation work included voicing Beast in the TV series “X-Men: Evolution” as well as roles in “Dragon Ball Z,” “Galaxy Angel,” “Littlest Pet Shop,” and “Ninjago.” In live-action TV, Kopsa played Captain Windmark in the final seasons of “Fringe” and General Kerrigan in “Stargate SG-1.” He made guest appearances on shows including “The X-Files,” “Smallville,” “Dead Like Me,” and “iZombie.” Kopsa’s movies included “Fantastic Four,” “Watchmen,” “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” and “Big Eyes.”
