Acting and martial arts
Wall studied martial arts alongside Chuck Norris, becoming a ninth degree black belt in Norris’ Tang Soo Do. He became friends with Lee and first appeared in his 1972 film “Way of the Dragon.” The following year, Wall appeared in “Enter the Dragon,” which included a memorable fight scene with Lee. Wall later revealed that Lee had broken several of his ribs as they filmed the fight. Wall also appeared in Lee’s unfinished film “Game of Death.” With Norris, he appeared in the movies “Code of Silence,” “Firewalker,” and “Hero and the Terror,” as well as in 14 episodes of “Walker, Texas Ranger.” He made news in the 1980s and ‘90s when he feuded with Steven Seagal over Seagal’s alleged insults toward Lee and Norris. Wall also co-founded the Sherman Oaks Karate Studio, which he later sold to Norris.
Wall on his accomplishments
“I was proud of the great chain of martial art studios Chuck Norris and I created. Proud of what a great partner Chuck was, proud that we were the first to focus on teaching children and women, proud to have achieved becoming a World Pro champion. I am very proud of the immense great men and women, students of ours that became amazing black belts and good humans.” —from a 2019 interview for The Mighty Dragon
