Shelby Jordan (1952–2022), former Patriots offensive lineman

Shelby Jordan was a former NFL offensive lineman for the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Raiders.  

College and NFL career

Shelby Jordan was a star linebacker at Washington University in St. Louis. He switched to offensive lineman in the NFL, playing seven seasons for the New England Patriots starting in 1975. He signed with the Los Angeles Raiders in 1983, winning a Super Bowl and retired after four seasons in 1986. He was the first player from Washington University to enter the College Football Hall of Fame when he was inducted in 2013. He and his wife ran a non-profit in Los Angeles that supported affordable urban housing.
