Not sure what to say?

I met Shelby at a restaurant in Manhattan Beach. He was a very nice person and he happened to live near my mom in Rancho Palos Verdes, but I did not know this until many years later. I met him in around 1980 I’m ,not sure. he was always very sweet and a good listener and would give a good hug just to show he respected you. I just now found out that he died so I’m sorry for his family and everyone that loved him. That’s sad.

So sorry to hear of his passing. He was an admirable and inspirational man. Rest in peace, Mr. Jordan.

I had met Shelby on only two occasions at a memorial for a mutual friend and yet each time he seemed the most open, friendly and interesting person I had ever got to know. I could only listen to his stories and conversations and yet after he left the restaurant at our second meeting we found our check had been taken care of. Wow!! I mean he didn’t need to do that, but he did, to pay his respects to a small close family and our mutual friends memorial lunch. So sad to hear of this loss. God...

You will be remembered in the NFL.

My deepest condolences to you Donnie and your family. May God uplift your hearts, and comfort you during this difficult time. ❤

The Man!

Shelby was an amazing person. I, along with countless coworkers, had the pleasure of getting to know Shelby at Whole Foods Market in Torrance. His presence permeated the store. We all knew when Shelby was there. Customers, too! He had the gift of gab and spoke to you as though he'd known you for years. He loved to speak to us about his family, especially his grand babies. His face lit up recalling all the stages of life they were going through. He will truly be missed.

I first met Shell at the Washington University Athletics Facility. I was working out to play pro football and was trying to lower my time in the one mile run. Shell observed my frustration and came over to introduce himself. I told him how my run time had gotten worse and not better. He then informed me that the Wash U track was 1/3rd mile and not the standard 1/4 mile. We laughed for nearly an hour! My true condolences to his family. God needed him more than us.
