The Aftermath of Stephanie Moseley’s Tragic Death

The domestic violence death of dancer and actress Stephanie Moseley has spurred an outpouring of sympathy and support from fans, friends, and colleagues.

In the wake of the domestic violence death of gifted dancer and actress Stephanie Moseley, fans and friends are sharing condolences and memories, and her colleagues are raising money to support her family.

On Twitter and Instagram, celebrities such as Rihanna, Ashley Tisdale, and Moseley’s “Hit the Floor” co-star Dean Cain paid tribute to Moseley, and fans expressed their shock and sadness in her Guest Book. The cast and crew of “Hit the Floor” set up a memorial fund for Moseley’s family, so far raising more than $8,700.

A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Moseley was known best for roles on VH1’s “Hit the Floor” and the movie “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 1.” She also performed as a dancer on tours with Janet Jackson, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, and other singers. She was reportedly shot Dec. 8, 2014, by her rapper husband, Earl Hayes, who then took his own life.

According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, nearly one-third of female homicide victims in the U.S. are killed by their spouses or partners.
