Coon Rapids, Minnesota, USA
Died May 4, 2020
Age 80
Carol Geretschlaeger, who had Alzheimer’s, was residing in a long-term care facility when she became ill with COVID-19. Her daughters Ginger and Lisa fought successfully to bring their mother home to die. āIām not going to have my mom spend her last days alone behind a glass window. We are going to hold her and love her and give her the most compassionate, loving goodbye that we could,ā Ginger said. She and her sister are advocating for other families with sick loved ones to receive compassionate exceptions to bring them home. And they want people to know how serious the coronavirus is.
