DAIGLE, JAMIE MARIE Jamie Marie Daigle, 14, had just completed her eighth-grade year at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic School, Gonzales, and had been accepted at St. Joseph's Academy, Baton Rouge, for the fall school year. A resident of Gonzales and a native of Metairie, she died Saturday, June 25, 2005, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Pensacola, Fla. Visiting at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Gonzales, on Tuesday, June 28, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 29, from 9 a.m. to noon, with recitation of the rosary at 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the church at noon Wednesday, concelebrated by the Rev. Gary Belsome and the Most Rev. Robert W. Muench, bishop of Baton Rouge. Entombment in Hope Haven Cemetery/Mausoleum, Gonzales. She is survived by her father and mother, Ronnie James and Wendy Giardina Daigle of Gonzales; brother, Nicholas James Daigle of Gonzales; maternal grandfather, Philip Giardina of New Orleans; paternal grandparents, R.J. and Priscilla Hebert Daigle of Gonzales; aunts and uncles, Vance and Charlene Daigle of Prairieville, John and Melanie Moraites of Cary, N.C., Charlie Moraites of Scott, and Scott and Jody Gates of St. Louis; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Rose Marie Jacobsen Giardina; and an uncle, James Moraites. Pallbearers will be Kalen Minvielle, Garrett Joffrion, Jim Martin, Clay McKnight, Seth Joffrion and Keith Hidalgo. Honorary pallbearers are John Kitto and Ben Kitto. At St. Theresa of Avila Catholic School, she was a cheerleader, having served as captain of the squad, a member of the Student Council, yearbook staff and God's Warriors and a summer camp volunteer.
