Reverend Ronald Alan Romeis

Reverend Ronald Alan Romeis, of St. Davids, Pennsylvania, passed away at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia on February 8, 2013, at the age of 65. Son of the late Ludwig Romeis and Elizabeth Perry Romeis, he was born in 1947 and raised in Fort Myers, Florida. Rev. Romeis attended Florida Presbyterian College (now Eckerd College) in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he met his wife Margaret Elizabeth Whitworth. After earning his Masters of Divinity at Vanderbilt University, Rev. Romeis was ordained in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), and spent much of his career in service with Philadelphia Presbytery Homes, building housing for lower-income seniors. He was honorably retired from the Presbytery in 2003. Rev. Romeis is survived by his three children and three grandchildren: daughter Margaret Elizabeth Blume-Kohout (husband Robin Blume-Kohout) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and their daughter Ariana Margaret; daughter Sara Romeis Leonard (husband Nathaniel Leonard) of Granby, Massachusetts; and son Michael John Romeis and his two children, Emily Rose and Michael Zachary. He is also survived by his brother Gordon Romeis (wife Cindy) and their family in Fort Myers, Florida. A memorial service will be held at Wayne Presbyterian Church at 11am on Friday, February 15th. Interment will be private. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions identified as "Romeis Memorial" be directed to Wayne Presbyterian Church, 125 E. Lancaster Ave., Wayne, PA 19087.
