It was a privilege to have known Harry and worked with him at Anne Arundel Community College. A true gentleman.

I'm sending my love to Harry and Liliane, my neighbors in Crownsville since 1998, who became so much more as the years went by, until they are like parents to me. Harry and I spent many happy hours doing the Mearl Reagle Sunday crosswords, and working out the "trick" clues to our delight. Harry was always the librarian, seeking a place to look up the answers that we didn't know most efficiently from his extensive at home reference library, and the unabridged Oxford English Dictionary on its special stand. Even at our last visit in early May, we completed three of these puzzles togheter, and I'm thankful that Harry was still able to enjoy the intellectual challenge right up to the end of his life, thanks to Liliane's excellent care of him. I am sorry to miss Harry's memorial service this weekend and meeting with all his friends, but I am looking forward to seeing Liliane in mid-July for several days. Harry and Liliane are both so kind and generous, and Liliane's suggestion to be kind to a friend or an animal in Harry's memory is a fitting tribute to my incredibly sweet friend.
Love,
Alice

I worked with Harry at Anne Arundal Community College Library from 1970 to l991. He was delightful to work with and could take a joke. I pulled several on him. I enjoyed visiting in their home.
