Timothy Skeen Obituary

Skeen Timothy Francis Skeen, age 55, passed away unexpectedly on January 17, 2014 of H1N1 pneumonia at St. John's Medical Center, Santa Monica, CA. Tim was born February 14, 1958 in Columbus and was a 1976 graduate of Columbus South High School. Tim loved being the youngest of the 12 Skeen children and as a young boy flying across the south-end streets on his bike his spirit for adventure was evident. Tim wanted to see the world and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1981 stationed in NC and Honolulu as a medic. Tim's quick wit and sweet, gentle spirit were his gifts to us throughout his life. Tim would laugh at any joke and could also be a fierce debater when it came to politics or religion! Tim loved the Lord and had a deep abiding faith that one day he would b e with Jesus in his new home, in his new body. Above everything in his life his greatest joy was in being a father to his beloved daughter, Ashley. Preceded in death by parents Ralph and Arlene Skeen, brother Richard Skeen, sister Victoria Skeen Cable, sister-in-law Joyce Skeen, grandparents Adrian and Ethel Skeen and Hattie and George Williams. Tim is survived by daughter, Ashley (Adrian) Garcia; former wife, Priscilla Skeen; sisters, Sue (Skeen) McAndrew, Patricia (Bob) Stevens, Barbara Stevens, Attorney Carla Skeen (Jamie) Sulllivan, Kathryn Skeen; brothers, Ronald (Karen) Skeen, Pastor Robert (Denise) Skeen, Charles (Pat) Skeen and Christopher Skeen; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, Aunt Avanell Rundels and Uncle Wayne Williams. A memorial service will be held at Woodland Cemetery in Santa Monica, CA on February 1, 2014. A memorial service in Columbus will be announced at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you remember Tim with a gift to the Wounded Warriors organization. Condolences/memories gratefully received by Ashley Garcia, 20455 Anza Ave, Apt. 17, Torrance, CA 90503.

It is with deep regret that Tim has passed on but we are at peace knowing he is with his Lord, Our Father. I was happy I got to see Tim when I came home a couple of years ago, and I will always love the family so deeply. It was a joy seeing them together again and we will see you and our loved ones again in the next world. Rest in peace, my dear friend and family. Yes, sweet defined you. Love, Jackie and Ron Linville

Sending thoughts of peace and comfort to the Skeen family. Tim and I were in the same class, from Siebert Elementary to South High, and he was always friendly and kind, with a smile for everyone. Very sorry for your loss.

To Sue and the entire Skeen family,

More than 50 years ago I graduated in the same class with Sue. You may not remember me but there is something about growing and learning together that builds a bond. I never met Tim personally but may your memories comfort you in the days and weeks ahead and knowing the others care help you through this difficult time.

So sorry to hear of Tim's passing. I have wonderful memories of us all playing as kids outside your home and our grocery store next door to each other on Siebert Street. We lost touch but it sounds like he grew up into a remarkable young man. Hold on to those memories, and may they give you comfort and peace. Thoughts and prayers going out for the Skeen Family.
