So sorry to hear about Dans passing. He was my 1st guitar teacher and opened the door to a lifetime of playing for me. I always loved the peacefulness of the house in Storrs and always appreciated Dans patience with me when it came down to fundamentals vs. what I wanted. It made a huge impression on me later in life. Condolences.

Dear Bonnie & Family,

Although I have never met you nor your children, nor seen Dan since I moved away from Springville, NY, I did keep up somewhat with Dan's activities and your family through my occasional contact with his mom (my aunt Florence) and his aunt Dorothy (also my aunt). I know that my dad, Stanley Fila (Dan's uncle), would be extremely proud of Dan's accomplishments both with his mastery of the guitar and his gift for teaching that mastery, which I would like to think was first instilled by my dad when he taught Dan guitar when Dan was in Jr high and high school and lived in Hamburg, NY before moving with his parents and siblings to Ft Lauderdale.

Of course Dan obviously had other guitar teachers as well, so I really don't know who his true mentor was, but I would like to think that my Dad, who had a music studio, had at least a small part in Dan achieving a wonderful career in music.

I wish the best for you and your family and that the legacy that Dan created during his time here on earth will continue to inspire others to carry on and pass along their musical gifts as well.

Bonnie, I'm so sorry to hear about this. Dan was my first and only guitar teacher and he taught me so much. I have such fond memories of my lessons, and I still have some of the lessons he wrote in pencil on white paper. I hope you're well, my condolences!

Bonnie and Family,
There are really no words to describe how sad we feel for you. Dan was a wonderful teacher who gave to each of his students and Seth had that opportunity and we appreciate the time he did spend taking lessons with Dan. If there is any comfort in knowing that the time spent with Dan the guitar teacher will never be forgotten and will be passed on to others in multiple ways with joy and kindness.
Our sincere sympathy is extended to you and your family.
Beth, Ken, and Seth

Dear Family Glow,

I send my deepest condolences on the passing of dear Daniel Glow. I studied classical guitar with Glow from 1974-1978, and have lifelong memories of the Carcassi method, thanks to his instruction. He was an inspirational teacher, always concluding my lesson with a brief solo, demonstrating the beauty of classical guitar, the depth of his talent, and his genuine care to ensure that his student maintained focus on what was possible. I will never forget him, and thank him eternally for his kindness and for serving as a learned role model when I was a young girl. With thanks. May you and your family find peace and treasure his memory.
With deepest sympathy,
Vibha Jain Miller and family

Bonnie:

We're so sorry to learn of this news. How often we have thought of you and Dan, and the wonderful gift you have had as stewards of God's precious gift of music, as we've watched our Stephen play his beloved guitar. Thanks to you and to Dan for sharing your gift, which lives on in the musicianship of so many you led along the way.

Patty and I will remember you all fondly in our prayers.
