Corcoran, Pierce Kennedy (August 4, 1996 - December 29, 2018) was a brilliant young man full of more faith, perseverance and love than is seen in men twice his age. In his 22 years, he tried his hand at every sport possible, developing a love of golf, soccer, tennis and running 2 marathons in 2017.
He became an advocate for eating healthy and exercising daily. He was in the process of completing his personal trainer certification. He was employed at Fed Ex Express for the last 5 years and was a graduate of Grace Christian Academy class of 2015.
Awaiting him in heaven are grandparents, "Big" Jim and Sue Corcoran and great-grandmother, Daisy Collins, and great-grandparents Carlos and Ruby Witt.
Longing for him on earth are parents D.J. and Wendy Corcoran, sister and brother-in-law Avery and Timothy Pressley, brother Connor Corcoran, grandparents Benjamin and Elaine Witt, loving girlfriend Jade Adams and family, aunts and uncles Jan Milsaps (Jim), Darryl Thorpe (Jeanne), Marty Bowman (John), Sherry Witt, Missy Corcoran, Corky Corcoran (Paige) and a host of loving cousins.
Family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday January 1, 2019 at Central Baptist Church of Fountain City with a funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Dr. Tony Pointer officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Stevens Mortuary to go in procession to Greenwood Cemetery for a 3:00 p.m. graveside service and interment. Pallbearers will be dear friends and teammates.
Stevens Mortuary at Oglewood Ave and Broadway is serving the family of Mr. Corcoran.

I never knew this young man but his passing has touched the hearts of many people in our country. You don't know me, and I didn't hear about your son's death until today, but my heart is aching. Pierce is younger than my only child. I cannot imagine your grief, but I understand and share your hurt and anger. Pierce did not have to die, it wasn't his time to go, and in his name you must continue to fight on. Know that there are the prayers of thousands to strengthen you. We are so sorry for the loss of your son Pierce. It is so very sad. Our 2 daughters and granddaughter live in Knoxville . My husband and I lived in Clinton and Oak Ridge for 22 years before we retired to AZ 2 years ago. We hope and pray you will have peace even though Pierce is gone. We also have 2 sons and I can't imagine any of our children not being here. Please accept our condolences for you and all your family. Your son was a very precious person. Me and him teased each other when he came him to pickup the fed ex packages at that time didn't know he was your son. I told him that I wanted his purple Santa hat. Prayers are with your family sad I will not see his face and smile when he picked up or delivered packages to our store.
