TITO
RALPH F.
89, of Latrobe, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2013. He was born on April 7, 1924 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Anthony J. and Helen (Latch) Tito. Ralph was proud of his Pittsburgh heritage, and enjoyed growing up in Oakland. He graduated from Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School and had attended Saint Vincent College. Ralph was a proud U.S. Army veteran, having served during WWII. He landed at Utah Beach in August 1944 and served in four battle campaigns through Europe with the 80th Infantry Blue Ridge Division, 318 Regiment, I Company. The division motto was "the 80th only moves forward". Once, while providing support for General George S. Patton's 3rd Army, Ralph saw General Patton in passing and was able to see his infamous ivory handled Colt side arms. After the end of the war, he received an Honorable Discharge in October 1945 with four Battle Stars and a Purple Heart with one oak leaf cluster. Ralph was a member of Holy Family Church, Latrobe, and had attended St. Joan of Arc Church, Farmington. He was a retired co-owner and Vice President of Latrobe Brewing Company, makers of Rolling Rock Beer. Besides his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Ann (Cray) Tito on April 17, 1985; and his sister, Jane Tito Kerns. Ralph is survived by two sons, Ralph R. Tito, of Greensburg and Anthony C. Tito, and his wife, Linda, of Saline, MI; two daughters, Nancy J. Tito, of Latrobe and Ann L. Wilson and her husband, Kevin, of Costa Mesa, CA; he is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. There were no public visitations. Services and interment were private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Ralph's name to St. Joan of Arc Church, P.O. Box 92, Farmington, PA 15437. Arrangements were handled by the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 601 Weldon Street, Latrobe. To sign the online guestbook, send condolences, or to view detailed obituary information, please visit:

Ralph and family,

So sorry to find out about your dad. It seems so Catholic though, that circumstances would have finding out about your dad's death on All Soul's Day. Be assured of my prayers for him and your mom - will add them to my regular prayer list, which also includes my parents and Jim Cochrane's parents. For years Jim and I have reminesced about fond college memories and our wish to cross paths again.
God bless your dad and his family,
