Ernest Marino Obituary

Ernest Marino

October 19, 1926 - March 16, 2018

Ernest Marino, fondly called Ernie by family and friends, was born in Stockton, CA, on Oct. 19, 1926 and passed away with family at his side on March 16, 2018. He graduated from Stockton High and was drafted into the United States Army shortly after. He was stationed in Japan. After the Army, Ernie joined his two brothers, Louie and Lawrence, in the family business, Marino Bros. Trucking Co. In 1950, he met his wife Marie on a blind date. They were married on April 1, 1955. This year would mark their 63rd wedding anniversary.

Ernie is survived by the love of his life, Marie Marino; son Dale Marino and wife Melanie (grandson Brandon Marino and wife Candi; granddaughter Stacy Siville and husband Kevin; grandson Nicholas Marino and wife Tzitzitlini); son Daniel Marino (grandson Justin Marino and wife Kelsey; granddaughter Kelsey Marino); and son Mark Marino and wife Trisha (granddaughters Taylor and Lauren Marino). Ernie's love of family was evident every time he held one of his 4 great grandchildren, Trevor, Carson, Audrina and Robert. Ernie is preceded in death by his parents Michele and Angelina Marinucci (the last name was changed to Marino after immigrating to America). He is also preceded in death by his brothers Louie and Frank, and sister Georgia. He is survived by his brother Lawrence and sister Marge, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Once retired, Ernie spent much of his time in the garden with his brother Lawrence. He took great pride in his Italian heritage both as a member of Liguri Nel Mondo as well as attending Italian events held by the IAC and the Gun and Bocce Club. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge. He and Marie enjoyed traveling across country in their motor home and were members of the Tracy Wildlife Association and the National Motor- coach Association. Many memorable family vacations were spent at their Lake Tahoe timeshare.

Ernie will be remembered as the loving patriarch of the Marino Family. He was happiest whens urrounded by family. Our Ernie will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. The family would like to thank the caring staff at St. Joseph's Hospital and Lincoln Square Post-Acute Care.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 4-7pm at Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, 14165 N. Beckman Rd. in Lodi, California. Dear Marino Family,
Ernie will live forever in the hearts and memories of all who knew him. We have fond memories of a very nice and gentle man who loved his family and cherished his friends. He was inspirational to us in peeking our interest in RV Travel. We enjoyed meeting up with Ernie and Marie in our travels. Our kids grew up with Ernie's grandchildren and we would always visit with Ernie and Marie at their school functions and other activities. We regarded the Marinos as family. Our deepest sympathy to the family for their loss. God Bless you all during this difficult time of grief. Ernie leaves behind a beautiful legacy in a wonderful, great, loving family. Sending you many HUGS.

He will always walk beside you,
In the moments when you feel low,
Given time you'll think of your memories,
And bask within their glow,
You'll smile and bring to mind,
Occasions that meant so much,
The way he loved you dearly,
His warm and tender touch,
Be thankful for the years you shared,
The recollections locked in your heart,
Life will go on without him - yes -
But he will still always play a part.
GOD BLESS

Love to all
