FISKE, Kenneth Burch A memorial service for Kenneth B. Fiske will be held at the Umlauf Memorial Gardens and Museum on December 28, 2017 from 4:30-5:30. The family has planned refreshments and a presentation of Ken's paintings in addition to the memorial service and hopes to see many familiar faces. Kenneth Burch Fiske was born in Chicago Illinois on December 31, 1928 and passed away in Austin, Texas on June 10, 2017 of natural causes. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia Sawyers Fiske, their two children, Burch Fiske, and Daryl Fiske Russinovich, and Grand daughter, Maria Russinovich. Ken's formative years were spent in Southern California where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Cum Laude, and Phi Kappa Phi, with a B.A in 1950 and an M.A. from the University of Southern California, in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 and was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal. In 1955, he joined the Art faculty at the University of Texas where he taught painting, design, and life drawing until the late 80's when he retired as Professor Emeritus. During his tenure, he participated in over a hundred art exhibitions, winning numerous awards and purchase prizes in several museums, including the Witte Museum in San Antonio, and the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts. He is also included in numerous private collections.
