Megan McNeil Obituary
Grafton - Megan L. McNeil, 27, passed away August 21, 2020, her vibrant life ending far too soon. She was born October 8, 1992 in Worcester, daughter of Lorraine McClure-Barth and her husband James Barth, and Richard McNeil and his wife Erin Gustin. Megan leaves the shining light of her life, her daughter Ayla Ansah and her father Jamal, maternal grandparents Constance and David McClure, her brother Christian McClure, her step siblings Colleen and Shannon Milkman and Jessica and Jimmy Barth along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Megan's roots were in Grafton where she grew up. Following her graduation from Blackstone Valley Technical High School she earned her Associate's Degree from Mt. Wachusett Community College and began her career as a Registered Nurse. Nursing for Megan was in no way merely a job; it was her calling. She was a caregiver to everyone she loved and her career as a Nurse created a path for her to share that gift with the patients she cared for every day. Her passion and energy were a blessing to the dedicated nursing teams she worked alongside at St. Vincent Hospital and UMass Memorial Medical Center for the past several years. Away from work she valued family above all else, and she had a great love for the peace of the outdoors as she looked forward to camping trips and time at the beach. When the opportunities were there she loved to travel. Even as she passed Megan continued to be a caregiver as her participation as an organ donor brought the precious gift of life to recipients and their families. All are welcome to gather and remember Megan with her family and friends at calling hours on Saturday August 29th from 3pm to 7pm at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton MA 01536. Funeral services and burial will be private, masks and social distancing guidelines will be honored. A Memorial Fund to benefit Megan's daughter Ayla is being established at St. Vincent Hospital Credit Union 123 Summer St. Suite 510 Worcester, MA 01610. Megan was funny, loud, opinionated, compassionate, and so full of energy! I met her at MWCC when I worked as a TA in her A&P class. She could always make the class laugh and lighten the mood - and she was so clearly destined to be a nurse. Throughout the years that followed, I enjoyed getting updates on her life and was so proud of her for becoming an amazing mom and nurse. My heart breaks for her family- especially Ayla. I hope that you find comfort in knowing that the world is a better place because Megan was in it.

Megan was a wonderful person inside and outside. I was lucky to be in her shop during high school, she always made me feel good about myself. She always got our ladies laughing. I’m truly saddened by this event and sending prayers to your entire family and especially Ayla. She always put others before herself.

Your daughter treated my son at the St V’s ER last year in January, he went to anaphylactic shock due to his nut allergy and self administered an EPI pen at the age of 12 and when he arrived to the ER we were blessed to have your daughter as our nurse. She told my son that she was so proud of him and have him a high five . That meant to much to me because as a mom I was devastated about the situation . She took good care of us and was so uplifting and caring . We revisited the ER 5 days later and were blessed to have her as a nurse AGAIN and she remember us! Again she took care of us like we had known her for years . As many times we have been the St. V’s she the only nurse who stood out to both my son and I.
Know that your daughter has touched many lives. Her eyes, her personality and smile will forever live within us and we pray for her beautiful daughter and family. God bless you all and God rest her soul.

I'm fairly certain your beautiful daughter cared for me post-OP from open heart surgery. I recognized her beautiful eyes and smile. I know that Megan McNeil was a special woman and that she touched many lives. This is so because I have a dear friend whom adored her so much and loved and spoke highly of her that I felt the synergy from all else. This was so embedded with my deepest condolences and sympathy towards the Gem she poured the most love was her Daugther Ayla ❤Will miss her embrace. Granted we were dumb kids back in 6th grade, she was my first serious girlfriend. Although we didn't truly know what love was back then we thought we did. But she will always have a place in my heart and memory. Condolences to her family and her beautiful little girl. I can't imagine what that poor child is going through. I'm not religious but I will make a point to pray for her. So sorry you guys are going through this.
